LaRusso appointed as board chair at VitalHealth Software
VitalHealth Software announces the appointment of Nicholas F. LaRusso, M.D. as the organization’s new non-executive Chairman of the Board of Directors. LaRusso succeeds Al Schilmoeller, who is retiring from Mayo Clinic after nearly forty years of service and after having been a member of the VitalHealth Board of Directors since 2006 and Chairman since 2010.
Dr. LaRusso is a gastroenterologist and professor of medicine, biochemistry and molecular biology at Mayo Clinic. He was previously the Founding Medical Director of the Mayo Clinic Center for Innovation (CFI), the largest research and testing center for new health care delivery models at U.S. academic medical centers. His prior Mayo Clinic roles have included distinguished tenure as Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine and Chair of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Mayo Clinic Rochester He is currently the Charles H. Weinman Endowed Professor of Medicine and a Distinguished Investigator of the Mayo Foundation.
